Wallingford: 2011
We have been to The Messiah many times in the last 50 years but never have we experienced anything so moving and exciting as your performance last night.
It was religious and human and totally wonderful; reducing us to tears at times! We wanted everyone to have heard it. Thank you all so much- singers, organist, conductor and everyone. We cannot stop thinking about it.
Can I thank you all for a wonderful evening last night in Wallingford. I have been going to the Messiah at Christmas for many, many years, (since I was a little girl in fact) and this opened up the music for me in a completely new and deeply touching way. I think I will find it hard to listen to a traditional Messiah again, but when I do, your staging and your wonderful acting and voices will be in my mind.
One of my friends told me this morning she couldn't sleep last night as she kept going through the different scenes in her head.
Saffron Walden: 2011
I just wanted to write to say what a truly outstanding performance it was. Indeed, it was one of the most moving musical performances of any kind I have ever attended.
The quality of the singing, the timing and choreography were all superb. But it was lifted into a class of its own by the inspirational handling of the characters, whose visible transformation from self-centredness, anguish and suspicion to hope, joy and love was so powerfully portrayed, as music and drama combined vividly to proclaim the message of salvation.
Bath: 2012
'I have never been to a concert before where the entire audience stood and
cheered at the end. Several people were moved to tears.'
